This is another one of those Brayered background pieces that sat on my desk for 5 months after Heartfelt. I made this one into a Masculine Birthday card with Open Sea. Quick and Simple.

This card was another CASE from Pinterest, but the card I saw was all in beiges and neutrals. I changed out the colours and added the blue and red and made it more nautical. I masked off the centre panel with some torn post it notes, sponged and stamped the background then removed the masks. I love this card and would like to make a feminine version in my next stamping session.

I saw another card on Pinterest that resembled this, but once I started CASing it, I switched out so many things that it barely resembles the original anymore. I switched out the DSP, the colours, and the embellishments. In the end, I made two, just reversing the colours:
Which one do you like better?

One day last week, Emma had a friend over for the afternoon. They did lots of tween girly things like paint nails, walk to the store for ice cream together and giggle, and giggle, and giggle. They also took some time to create a few cards at my craft desk. Emma’s friend had NEVER rubber stamped before so I had to show her how. Once she got started, she really enjoyed it! (and I’ve given her Mom a catalogue now too, so she can have a party!) Here are the cards that Emma made…she was in a “vintage/collage” phase that day:
She says she’s going to add the sentiments when she’s ready to give them out.
These are the cards her friend made, with a bit of assistance from me. I helped her with colours, and choosing embellishments. She chose the Mouthwatering set to use for both of these cards. The flower on the second card is a sneak peek from the upcoming Seasonal Catalogue which releases February 1st:

While I has the Open Sea stamp set out on the table, I wanted to add to my Masculine Birthday card stash as well. This one came together very quickly, and I love how it turned out. Again, I used the Nautical Expedition DSP…these both are leaving us at the end of March, make sure to order yours today!

A couple weeks back, I had the need to make a special Get Well soon card for a patient of ours. I had a flowery one on hand, but hubby thought I could do better for a male. (and honestly so did I!). I pulled out the Open Sea set, which is leaving us in just a few short days! I’ve also used the Nautical Expedition DSP, also leaving us at the end of March.

It’s summer holidays (in case you hadn’t already noticed) and often if I’m at my desk stamping then so is one, or both of my munchkins. One night a couple weeks ago we all crowded around my desk and made some magic. I wanted to share their projects because they are definitely improving with age! This one was done my Graham, who as you know just turned SEVEN last weekend. He came up with this all on his own and had never used the crimper before. He used the Colour Coach for his colour ideas and I didn’t help him a bit!
Emma wanted to make a wall-hanging for her room in the form of an 8×8 scrapbook page, and she did this one all on her own too. She is 9.5 yrs and is very good at colour coordination!

This is a set of cards that I made earlier this month for an 80th birthday of one of our patients. I didn’t know this man well so I went for this nautical set. I figured it was masculine enough to cover anyone really. I started off with a simplified version, including the Nautical Expedition DSP:
For the stepped up version, I embossed the boat in Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder, added a button with some bakers twine and some brads.

It’s here! ONE FULL YEAR of scrapbook layouts! (minus that one I missed last week, oops! It’ll be up next week). I’ve chosen the new DSP and stamp set that’s in the Summer Mini Catalogue. Nautical Expedition DSP and Open Sea stamp set. What better products to use for these great photos that hubby took of the Marina on Hamilton Island.
The title was done on the computer, everything else is Stampin Up. Check out this awesome new Bakers Twine. I LOVE it!!

Here is another look at my money holders that I made on Wednesday. This one for my middle nephew, who is 11.
On each holder, I’ve used a different border punch too, and different colours and DSP. This one uses the NEW Nautical Expedition DSP and Open Sea stamp set that’s being released on December 1st.
