Another challenge that I was issued was to use the Tag punch.  I’ve had it forever, and only used it a few times, mostly to make bookmarks.  I was nearly stumped on this one.  I turned to the catalogue for inspiration and found a card to case.  I used the tag punch in place of the curly label punch and changed the card size, but otherwise it’s pretty much the same.

OMG!  It’s not a card!  Really?  Not a scrapbook page either!  I know it’s been a LONG time since I made a box, or other 3-D item, so I’m here to show you one now!  This one is made with the Fancy Favour box die for the Big Shot.  I’ve also used the Tasteful Trim die for the belly band.  Isn’t it cute!!!???

For the stepped up version, I glittered the top of the cupcake with my Heat and Stick powder and fine glitter, then punched it out with the cupcake punch.  I added a tag to the bag of Apricot Bites, and added a layer of ribbon too!  Ooooohhh…and look at the edging done with the eyelet border punch.  So adorable!

Okay, I know it’s late in the day, and I know it’s been several weeks since I’ve had a Step it up Saturday, but I’m blaming work again.  I’m also happy to report that this week I made not just this one but FOUR sets of Step it up Saturday cards, so I’m set for a whole month now!  Which one should I show you first?  Many of them were inspired, and even CASE’d from cards I saw at convention.  I’ll start with one that Pam Morgan did in her class.  I loved how simple it was!  It was similar to one of the swaps that I’d made, but she tweaked it a bit.  The Ice Cream Cone was given it’s cross-hatch pattern using the Solid Stripes background stamp just stamped once in each direction.  I hand cut the cones, and the scoops of Ice Cream are made with the Build A Cupcake Punch!  Here is my simpler version:

For the Stepped Up version, I used the polka dot embossing folder for the background, I glittered the tops of the ice crap with Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds.  On both cards, the Rose Red trim piece under the tag is made with the Tasteful Trim die, which I hadn’t used much, but can see using it much more in the future!
