Archive for the ‘Scrapbook Tuesday’ Category

Lots of things are going to be changing on my blog this year.  Not the least of which as my featured items (and days).  I Love scrapbooking, so this is one of the features that I’d like to keep.  That being said, I tend to get the least amount of comment on my scrapbooking posts, so I’m not sure if I’ll continue to make it a feature.  I’ll still scrapbook of course, but I’ll post the pages intermittently as I feel like it, among other posts.  We shall see.  So this brings us to the last Scrapbook Tuesday for now.  Stay tuned in the coming weeks for a few new features that I’m working on.

This is a 6×6 page of my brother’s wedding.  It’s almost one year now since I was on the beach in Mexico, taking this photo of my brother, his wife and my nephew.  I CASE’d the page from one in the catalogue and made it to go with the 6×6 album shown in the photos.

I’m back with another layout from Hamilton Island.  On this page, I’ve challenged myself to use the DSP that I like the least, Paisley Petals.  I’m not a huge fan, but this pattern sure looks tropical, so I chose it to go with these photos.  My friend Tina Gillespie was here when I started this layout, and she would be amused to know that it was 4 days later that I finally got it finished.  I was quite uninspired on how to finish it.

You see, I got the background, photos, title and borders done fairly quickly but then I had no idea what to do for accents.  I’m not sure what finally prompted me, but I pulled out the Build A Blossom set and punch, one that I hadn’t used in a LONG time, and made some pretty flowers for accents.  Nothing says tropical paradise like flowers right?

Scrapbook Tuesday #54

This week I’ve decided to showcase the gorgeous new Spice Cake DSP that’s in the Summer Mini Catalogue.  I love the colour combination in this DSP, and while it looks mostly Autumn in colours, I’ve used it here with a tropical photo.  I’ve also used this DSP on Christmas Projects too.  I just LOVE Pool Party on anything!  This was one of the two photos that I used on our Christmas cards this year.  Love this photo of us with Willy the Koala on Hamilton Island!

I’ve made the Rosette Flowers using the Spice Cake DSP as well, and the GIANT designer buttons, which I just Love!

OOPS!!!  Looks like I completely missed posting this layout for last Tuesday.  Life is crazy around here with the Holidays approaching, and playing catch-up from our trip away, not to mention working, end of year concerts and excursions, you all know how it is.  I’m sure you’ll forgive me for missing a post here and there!  This is the first layout I did with photos from our Hamilton Island trip, even though I’m posting it second.  I’ve used the Berry Blossoms DSP.

It’s here!  ONE FULL YEAR of scrapbook layouts!  (minus that one I missed last week, oops!  It’ll be up next week).  I’ve chosen the new DSP and stamp set that’s in the Summer Mini Catalogue.  Nautical Expedition DSP and Open Sea stamp set.  What better products to use for these great photos that hubby took of the Marina on Hamilton Island.

The title was done on the computer, everything else is Stampin Up.  Check out this awesome new Bakers Twine.  I LOVE it!!

I’m back with a SUPER quick page and a SUPER quick post as I rush out the door with the kids to school.  This page was done in TEN minutes thanks to our SImply Scrappin Kits.  While it’s not my favourite page, and certainly not the most beautiful page I’ve ever done, it’s 3 photos scrapbooked in a timely manner (it’s only been 14 months since these photos were taken…hahah!)  I’ve used the Country Club Simply Scrappin Kit here which lends itself well to Masculine pages.  That’s why I chose the photos of the Cave Paintings to go on this spread.  I wish I had had more time to do something better with the title though as I’m not happy with it as is.  Might change it when I have more time.

Onward then, come back next week (and inbetween) as next week’s Scrapbook Tuesday will have photos from our recent trip to a tropical island getaway.  Got the photos printed yesterday, now just to scrap some!

I’ve used some of the Jumbo Brads for the accents on this page, otherwise, everything was from the kit.

This is a layout that I created while I was working on my customer tutorial for December.  Make sure you check out the technique I’ve shown you with my next newsletter!  This photo of my mom was taken a couple years ago when we were back home for a visit.  I built the whole page around the colour of her shirt.

I’ve used the Vintage Vogue stamp set, the Texture Wheel, the Music Notes Wheel, and the paper daisies on this page.  Here are a couple close ups so you can see more details:

Happy Stamping!

This layout was featured in this month’s newsletter.  It’s featuring the Simply Scrappin Kits, which are a favourite of mine for making simple and fast layouts!  Now that I’m working more, and my kids are older (and busier) it’s getting harder to find the time for crafting of any kind.  These kits make scrapbooking a breeze, since all the products are co-ordinated.  You’ll find them on page 132-133 of the Idea Book and Catalogue.  Check them out!

Here are a couple close ups to show the detail on the embellishments too:

The only items outside the kit that I’ve added here are the pearls, ribbon, the letters cut with the Big Shot and the marker for the journaling.

I’m back with another scrapbook page after a couple of weeks break.  This one was photos from our trip to Mexico for my brother’s wedding back in January.  I’ve used the Cheerful Treat Hostess Papers, and the Letter it stamps for the title.  Other items used are the triple layer blossom punch and the Top note die for the title and journaling blocks.  The stamps used are from the super cute “Sunny Fun” set.  I love the border of thongs and the little dude in the inner tube!  I love these fun, bright colours, and how well they go with the beachy photos.

Now, I forgot to take a photo of the pages together since I did them over two days.  You get the idea though I’m sure.  Have a great Tuesday!

This was the first of three Make & Takes from Regionals.  It’s a cute 6×6 scrapbook page using the Under the Big Top set and the Big Top Birthday DSP.  How cute is this page!?
