I had some stamping time on the weekend so I went looking for some challenges.  I found this past colour challenge on Dynamic Duos, and as much as I NEVER use Yellow, I challenged MYSELF to choose this one.

Another challenge to myself was to make a Sympathy Card with this colour combo.  It’s not for anyone in particular, but they are always good to have on hand.

I started with embossing the En Francais stamp in clear on the black background.  I resisted the urge to colour the leaves of the flower in Old Olive as the challenge states I can’t use anything other than a neutral and these two colours….the black button and yellow brads were the final touches.  I’m happy with how it turned out.

Collage is not generally my cup of tea, but hey, I’m game to try anything when I have something to CASE.  THis card was again inspired by a Pinterest card.  I’ve used French Foliage, Everything Eleanor and Perfectly Penned to name a few.  Some pearls and a tinted doily round out the look.  Colours are Naturals Ivory, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Primrose Petals and Very Vanilla.

I Stamped!  For real!  I mean with paper and ink!  not just this one but SIX cards in one afternoon!  I know, I just can’t quite believe it either!  I had reserved the afternoon to do some continuing education, online training sessions for my nursing job, but the training site was corrupted and I could not access it.  What is a girl to do but pull out the old rubber and ink and get inky!

This card was inspired by one on interest though what I came up with is so far gone from where it started, other than the background technique…clear embossing on black cardstock.  I also pulled out a WHEEL for this one, one of my most underused tools!  (GASP!  I Hope this wheel hasn’t retired!  I just thought of that!  Oh, PHEW!  I just checked…Betsy’s Blooms it’s called, page 72, still current!)

The flowers are cut with the Floral Fusion Sizzlit die in Melon Mambo, Old Olive and Pool Party.  I love this, very fresh and bright!

A few weeks back my friend Madonna Dunn organised a Mystery Card kit swap, where we had to send in pieces of a card, base cardstock, DSP, ribbon and embellishments.  She then swapped them out and send them back to us to create whatever we liked with them.  The kit that I received had enough to make two cards so this os the first one I came up with:

The kit contained everything except the stamped images.  I love the Floral District DSP and was thrilled to have received it to work with in my kit!

I saw this adorable yet simple card on Pinterest (of course) and had to make my version of it.  I’ve used the Everything Eleanor Stamp set, and the Floral District DSP as well as some buttons and ribbons.  Isn’t it cute?

A card!

Like I said the other day, I haven’t had much actual stamping time in my craft room in the last few weeks and with this week’s launch of MDS, I honestly am playing with that more than anything, but you traditionalists, I know you like the paper stuff too!  My friend Tracey Eaton made this card and said I could share it with you.  She made this a few weeks back when she had asked me for a challenge.  I challenged her with the Clockworks stamp set and using some GREEN, which is a colour she rarely uses.  I love this card she created!  Thanks Tracey for making me something to share with my paper and ink lovers!

I had some stamping time with my son Graham last week.  He wanted to make a card for Daddy, his idol.  I was working on this card, and he chose to create his like mine (I guess he likes me a little bit too!).  He changed the colours on his, and didn’t add as many layers, but I’m really impressed with his card!  Here is what Graham made:

He chose the ribbon, the the brad to add to it.  I was so proud of his efforts!

This is My card, the one he was CASing:

This is my final Easter card made with the Everybunny Stamp set.  It’s already on it’s way overseas to one set of Grandparents….

The DSP on this one is from the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP and the little Curly Label Punch is from the SAB brochure.  Don’t miss out!  It’ll be gone on the 22nd!

In our bi-monthly Demonstrator Magazine, Impressions, there are dozens of ideas!  Some months are overwhelmingly inspiring, this month had this card that jumped out at me.  As always when I Case something, I changed a few things….but I had NEVER thought of using Brushed Gold cardstock as the BASE CARD!

Borders scoring plate for the zig-zag design along the bottom, it’s so cool!  The heart is cut from the More Amore DSP.  The Just Because Stamp is from the SAB set called Vintage Verses.  I’ve used some vellum and the Spritzer tool as well as a Vintage Faceted Button and twine to finish it off:

Hoppy Easter

Could Easter be just around the corner?  It sure is!  It’s one of TWO days of the year where it’s ok to eat Chocolate for Breakfast!  I have given up Artificial Sweeteners (Including Diet Coke) for the Lenten Period leading up to Easter and I’m looking forward to getting my Diet Coke back on Easter…..but I’n not missing it as much as I expected….so maybe I’ll leave it as an occasional indulgence….anyways, I digress….

I’ve made a couple cards with the Everybunny Set.  Now I don’t own this set, but LAST year, a fellow demonstrator was nice enough to stamp me a few images to create some Easter Cards.  I still had some leftover, so I made some more this year!  I’ve made two of this card, and they will be heading overseas by the time this post goes live.

The DSP is from Tea for Two (striped) and Sunshine and Sprinkles (Umbrellas)
