I thought I’d better break out at least ONE of the Sale A Bration Stamp sets before it’s over!  I can’t believe I haven’t even mounted these before now!  I’ve just been keeping myself so busy with everything else.  This is the Patterned Occasions Stamp set, and this cute little “Smarty Pants” Stamp was perfect for a little treat that I wanted to make my kids.  They had parent Teacher Interviews the other week, and both had glowing reports of course!  I wanted to reward them with a little treat the next day, so this is what I came up with.

For Emma’s I used the Daydream Medallions stamp in the background:

For Graham’s I used the Football from Great Sport:

They devoured the treat that was inside in about 3 seconds flat…and the box was destroyed, so I’m glad I took photos BEFORE they came home from school!

I had this idea in my head to create a miniature cupid’s house to fill with candies for Valentines Day.  I started off with the Mini Milk Carton die and went from there.  About 2 hours of playing, with Emma and I having some girly bonding time over my stamp desk and I came up with one, and so did she!  Here is mine:

The front door is punched out with the ticket punch, and surrounded by rhinestones. My little “cupid” is the Gingerbread Man from “Got Treats”, and his wings are little hearts punched out of silver glimmer paper.  Above the door we have a stamp from Itty Bitty Banners, cut out with the Banner Framelits.

The side windows are made with the laser cuts in the More Amore DSP, and the Lace Washi Tape and some more rhinestones.

Lastly, the roof was made with layers of the scallop border punch and closed with one of the new shaped paper clips, then spritzed with the spritzing tool for the final tough.  Isn’t this just so cute!?  AND…the best part, it was my own idea!  It didn’t come from Pinterest.  YAY!!!

Emma started off with hers going to be a “Candy” house, but her direction changed a few times during it’s creation….here is hers:

DSCN9865She stamped the background with the Distressed Dots stamp, then added a punched oval (crimped) door.  Those are Real Red brads surrounding the door with a hand-drawn vine.  Her roof was created with layers of the Ribbon Border punch, and she closed her box with some bakers twine.

DSCN9866She also added windows to hers, and lace Washi Tape, and hers is filled with raspberry candies.  Well Done Emma!

Lip Balm Butterflies

While my son wanted to give his classmates Christmas cards, my daughter opted to not make cards for her class.  INstead she wanted a little token gift to give her 10 closest friends.  I saw these on Teresa Schirmer’s blog and knew I had found the perfect gift.

This wraps up the Fabric Tuesday Feature that I have been running this year.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing all the ways to use our fabric!  This does not mean that I’m going to stop using our fabric, NO WAY!  It just means that I’m not going to post something new each week.  Next year I’m going to focus on blogging what I feel like, when I feel like it, and have no scheduled features, just creative awesomeness as creativity strikes.

These are made with the cute little Kraft gift boxes that come in a set of 4.  I made a batch of Peppermint Bark, and put it in little cello bags on the inside.  These cute boxes ended up in the hands of our 3 neighbours, and the kids’ swimming teacher.  All were well received.

The fabric is torn into strips and tied in a knot to close the box.  The rosette feature was made with the Rosette Big Shot die, the snowflake die and some glimmer paper.  I love how these turned out!

Rosette Tree

Back in May/June at Convention, there was a Christmas tree made out of rosettes.  It was so adorable, I wanted to recreate it…but it looked SOOOO Time consuming!  Enter the Rosette DIE for the Big Shot.  THAT was my saving grace in making this tree!  No scoring, only running the pieces through the Big Shot!  Lots of hot glue and time for folding made this come together in just over an hour.  It now sits on my desk at the office….

I may not have layered all the rosettes properly, as the tree looks a bit wonky, but hey…its handmade, it’s not supposed to be perfect, right?  I used Christmas Candlelight DSP for the whole thing (and now I’m nearly out!)

Boxes and Bows

In the same train of thought I used for making the gift bags for the teacher’s ornaments, I also made gift boxes for the teacher’s Candles too.  I also made some paper bows for the tops, using the tutorial I found on Kirsty Brown’s blog.

At the Regional Seminar in Sydney, they showed us many ways to gift wrap items.  These gift bags, made out of two pieces of cardstock were one of the items.  I made these to house the ornaments that I made for the teachers that I showed you last week.

The tags were my favourite part of the creation.  They were made with the Doily die, then the snowflake in silver Glimmer paper, then a rosette made with the Rosette die, and finally a Vintage Faceted Button with a Large pearl in the centre.  The greeting is from Greetings of the Season.

Fabric Tuesday #49

I’m back with another Fabric post, but I’m cheating this week.  This fabric is NOT Stampin Up!.  I Did not make these, but I could not resist sharing these adorable, handmade t-shirts (and skirt) that I bought for my kids when they had a Christmas Dress Up Fundraiser day at school the other week.  I bought them from Cheeky Billygoats Kids Clothing & Accessories.  I couldn’t have been more happy with the products, or her service, and I’d definitely buy from her again.  Back to Stampin Up! though, You could totally duplicate these with OUR fabric, especially the Bowtie on Graham’s top and the elf legs on Emma’s top…and our Tulle Ribbon for the skirt?  If only I was as clever as this lady was with Fabric….

This was the second set of teacher gifts that will be going to school next week.  I made two of these as well.  These were inspired by Jacqui Crouch.  While mine may look nothing like hers, because I didn’t have that gorgeous folder, hers was the starting point for my creation…and I may have gotten a bit carried away with the glimmer paper, no?

I had a marathon crafting session last week, working on year end thank you gifts for the kids teachers.  Each child has two teachers, not to mention class volunteers, music teachers, swimming teachers, etc.  This was the first thing I created for their teachers, (everyone gets one item, not one for each!).  This is the Ornament pictured on the front of the Holiday Catalogue.  It was a challenge, time consuming, and used a heap of hot glue, but I managed to get these two made in about 3 hours.  Not for the faint of heart.  I did enjoy it, and I think I could now do it in a bit less time, now that I know how to do it.

I just swapped the colours of the rosettes around on the second one, but otherwise they are the same.  I used the Tulle Ribbon in Crumb Cake and I swapped the colours around form the ornament on the catalogue too, putting the larger ones in red and the smaller ones in green.  I hope you like them!
