Festive Friday #3

Hi Everyone!  I’m back again with our third round of Festive Fridays!  This week we’ll tackle the first of MANY Christmas cards that we all need to have made by the end of this year.  Andrea Lowcock won last weeks round, and you can see her creation here.  Now, let’s get to the challenge!

Here’s the fine print:

1: Choose a card or project below that inspires you

2: Create your own Project

3: Load your project online somewhere and mention who on my design team inspired you.  If you do not have a blog, you can email me the image and I can upload it for you as well!

4: Link your project below by clicking on the froggy and adding your link.  You can also click on the froggy to view the links already added.

5: Links close Thursday February 2nd at 10am.  Winners will be posted with Next Week’s challenge.

First up is my creation.  I’ve used traditional colours here but I found a great tutorial on marthastewart.com to tie this ribbon wreath.  I made it the focal point of my card.

Tracey Eaton sent me this gorgeous card as her entry:

Next up is Sarah Cameron with this accordion folded flower:

Tina Gillespie gives us a bit of Glimmer:

Carolyn Bennie with her shimmery poinsettia:

Last and certainly not least is Bridget Fox with her non-traditional coloured swirly tree:

There’s the collection of inspiration for this week, now get your thinking caps on, choose one (or more) projects to inspire you and get your mojo flowing!  I want to see LOADS of Christmas cards this week!  Click on the froggy to link your entry!

Criss Cross Pocket Card

This is the second wedding invitation sample that I made up for that Bride to Be.  It’s a criss cross card with a pocket that slides out:

For the flowers on the inside, I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set and stamped them first in Certainly Celery.  I then stamped them again in Old Olive, slightly offset from the first image, this creates a 3D look.

It was a slow week on the Festive Friday Challenges this week!  I’m sure everyone is busy getting kids ready to go back to school.  Shopping for backpacks, uniforms and lunch boxes.  I had one entry this week so of course, one winner!  Congratulations Andrea Lowcock!

Here is a badge for you to display on your blog:

Starting tomorrow we will be gearing up for several weeks of Christmas Cards, so I hope MORE of you will hop in and play along with your Christmas ideas!  Get Stamping Girls!

I had a workshop on the 15th and the hostess contacted me a couple of days before, asking if I could make some sample wedding invitations for one of her friends who was attending.  All the information I got was that her colours were green and white.  I didn’t know what shade of green, what style she liked, so I just made four sample invitations in varying styles and colours.  I will show them on four separate days, just to keep you coming back!  (I’m so evil!).  This was the one she liked the best, and in the end purchased the supplies to make some of them (she then booked her own workshop!)

The inside where she can ad her customised text:

The “cherish” on the front came from the Baroque Motifs set and the little plant on the inside is from Pocket Silhouettes.

Easy Events Birthday

This is the second workshop card from last weekend’s workshop.  This time I’ve used the cupcake stamp and once again stamped it on watercolour paper with Staz On Ink.  I’ve used the aqua painter in this sample but at my workshop I demonstrated the blender pens on this card, just to show some different ways to watercolour.

The DSP is Just Add Cake, and the ribbon is the Peach Parfait Poly Twill ribbon, which is so soft and easy to tie!

It’s that time again!  The best promotion of the year, where Stampin Up pulls out ALL the stops in offering us FREE, exclusive, and Limited Time Only products!  For every $100 you spend on regular merchandise from any catalogue, you will receive a stamp set, DSP pack or Embellishment pack of your choice from the SAB brochure for FREE!  Click on the image above to see the SAB product brochure.

I’ve joined forces once again with the ESAD group of demonstrators to bring you a 23-person blog hop to inspire you with all our creations.  Grab a cuppa and sit down, and relax with all this inspiration!  You may have arrived here from Jane Norrish, or you may be starting off here, either way I invite you to hop along with us!

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for “Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators” and it is an on-line group just for Australian and New Zealand Stampin Up demonstrators.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors, but we share our love for what we do with each other as demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know-how, and cyberstamps, and we are always there to help and support each other when it is needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand, then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now, on to my projects!  I’ve first made a card featuring the Everyday Enchantment DSP and the Fresh Vintage Stamp set.  The ribbon and Brad you see are also SAB items, and can be chosen for FREE as a set in lieu of the stamps or paper.

My second project uses the same DSP and embellishments, but I’ve done an 8×8 scrapbook page:

Okay, now hop on over to Jacinta Argent’s site and see what lovely creations she has come up with…

This was one of the cards that I designed for my water colouring workshop last weekend.  Again, I used the Easy Events stamp set due to it’s versatility.  I LOVE this little garden of flowers!  I stamped it twice in Staz On ink on Watercolour Paper and used my aqua painter to colour them in with Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder ink pads, the stems are done with Lucky Limeade.  I’ve used the Berry Blossoms DSP punched with the square punches to make the border down the side.

The flower centres were blinged up a bit with the tiny basic pearls.

Easy Events Baby Card

I was working on designing some cards for a workshop last weekend and the hostess wanted to learn the water colouring technique.  I chose the Easy Events stamp set since it’s got so much versatility.  I made the two workshop projects (will be coming later this week) and then I wanted to make a card with this cute little rubber ducky.  I don’t have a baby in mind to give this to yet, but I just think this ducky is so cute!

I’ve used the Nursery Nest DSP and the Quick Accents pack that goes with it for the frame around the ducky and the betters too. So quick and easy!

A couple weeks ago, there was an inspiration challenge posted on ESAD, one of the demonstrator groups that I belong to.  The inspiration was this image:

I knew immediately that I wanted to pull out my brayer and sponges and try to duplicate the burning-looking background, but also wanted to silhouette a heart on it.  This is what I came up with:

I used so many colours on here that I can even recall how they were layered…So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Basic Black and more!  Thanks to my friend Tracey Eaton for this great inspiration piece!
